Volvo World Golf Challenge Malaysia Winner Wins an Australia Golf Trip
The 11th edition of the Volvo World Golf Challenge held in Kota Permai Golf & Country Club recently saw Andy Hii Sik Kiong from Demeter Logistics Sdn Bhd capture the title with 38 points on countback winning the grand prize trip to Brisbane. The lucky winner will also attend the Brisbane Truck Show in May 2019.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have been crowned the champion of the Volvo World Gold Challenge this year,” said Andy. “The challenge is something we look forward to every year, not just for the exciting prizes offered, but also because we know that by participating in the challenge, we are playing a part in contributing to a good cause.”
Simon Wong Chan Wah from ChipSeng Heng Enterprise Sdn Bhd who emerged in second place, took home a Titleist trolley bag while the third placed winner, Raymond Yoong from Freight Mark (M) Sdn Bhd won a Titleist Vokey Wedge.This year’s challenge also saw the inclusion of a lucky draw prize where one lucky golfer, Low Seng Chee from Syarikat Low Kim Chuan won the opportunity to join the grand prize winner alongside Mitch Peden, Managing Director of Volvo Malaysia in Australia.
The event also saw sales of official Volvo merchandise to participants and attendees, with all proceeds of the sale going to Palu, Indonesia towards its rebuilding efforts. Palu and Donggala, Central Sulawesi was devastated by a tsunami which was triggered by a 7.7 Richter Scale earthquake on 28 September. Combined with a bulls-eye competition as well as a private collection amongst Volvo Trucks Malaysia staff, a total of RM 10,000 was raised that day.
