Asian Tour Returns to The Bluffs for the 2018 Ho Tram Players Championship
The Asian Tour will be heading back to Vietnam for this first time since 2015 for the Ho Tram Players Championship, which will be staged from December 6 to 9.
The tournament offers a lucrative prize purse of US$1,000,000, and it will be played at The Bluffs along the Ho Tram Strip.
The elite field at the Ho Tram Players Championship can expect a stern test of golf, while spectators will experience top-class hospitality at the highly-acclaimed host venue.
The Ho Tram Players Championship is promoted and staged by Performance54, the same team behind its predecessor, the Ho Tram Open. The Ho Tram Open was lauded by fans as well as the media, and it was deservingly awarded “2015 Event of the Year” by Asian Tour players.
Michael Kelly, Executive Chairman and CEO of Asian Coast Development Ltd. (ACDL), developer of the Ho Tram Strip including The Bluffs, said: “We want this to be the sporting event by which all others in Asia are measured in 2018. We have the template and the know-how. Now it’s about execution.”
Jed Moore, Managing Director of Performance54, said: “You won’t find a better facility for a golf event of this nature, because, in addition to everything else, it’s right on the beach, which means it provides a backdrop that captivates both spectators and TV viewers.”
Asian Tour Chief Executive Officer Josh Burack hailed the addition of the Ho Tram Players Championship to the growing 2018 Asian Tour schedule.
“We are delighted to have the Ho Tram Players Championship later this season. Our last tournament in Vietnam was held at the same venue and it continues to evoke fond memories for our players, staff and fans, who regarded it as amongst the best ever tournaments on the Asian Tour” said Burack.
The Bluffs, designed by former world number one Greg Norman, has a links-style layout and is currently ranked 35th on Golf Digest’s coveted list of the “100 Greatest Golf Courses in the World. It also has an honourable mention in GOLF Magazine’s “Best New Courses of 2014.”
