Tunku Panglima Johor Challenge Trophy Raises More Than RM1 Million for Foundation
The 4th Tourism Johor Golf Tournament 2021 for the Tunku Panglima Johor Challenge Trophy was held recently on 27 November at the Els Club Desaru Coast. A total of 166 golfers participated in the tournament which was organised by Johor Golf Tourism Association (JGTA) and supported by Tourism Johor and Tourism Malaysia.
Due to the overwhelming participation from the golf fraternity, this year’s tournament was held at the Ocean Course and the championship Valley Course. 58 low handicappers teed-off at the Valley Course in the championship category while the other 108 participants with higher handicaps teed-off at the Ocean Course in the open category on a shotgun start. Tunku Putera Johor played at the Ocean Course with 108 participants.
Mohd Nasharuddin Mat Nasir who emerged the overall gross champion from the Championship Category at Valley Course walked away with the exquisite Tunku Panglima Johor Challenge Trophy.
The event raised RM1,121,500 for the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation from partnership contributions, sponsorships in cash as well as sales generated through an auction of exciting items. A mock cheque for RM1,121,500 was presented by Col. Mohd Jamal Salleh, President of JGTA to Tunku Abu Bakar Alhaj ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Putera Johor on behalf of Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation.
Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar graced the royal luncheon and prize presentation that was attended by about 220 participants, partners, sponsors and dignitaries.

2nd Runner-Up: Mohd Eddy Ismail
Best Gross – Open Category at Ocean Course:
Best Gross Champion: Saiful Supar
1st Runner-Up: Mohd Anizam Jamian
2nd Runner-Up: Mohd Fauzi Mesran
Best Nett System 36 Stroke Play – Open Category at Ocean Course:
Best Nett Champion: Mohd Johari Tarmidi
