MST Golf Launches TaylorMade Rory Club – Junior Membership Program
TaylorMade teamed up with 4-time major winner & TaylorMade ambassador Rory McIlroy to introduce the Rory Junior Golf Sets early this year as part of their global vision to invest in golf development within youths and to help kids develop a passion for the sport from an early age.
In line with this vision, MST Golf, the distributor for TaylorMade in Malaysia and Singapore, launched the TaylorMade Rory Club on 29th May 2019. The club is a free membership program for junior golfers under 18 years old as part of their continued effort to support junior golf development in Malaysia. The program was jointly launched with TaylorMade Asia’s management team who was in Kuala Lumpur for the TaylorMade Asia Summit and witnessed by many junior golfers and parents from MST Golf Academy.
“We will provide special buying privileges to TaylorMade Rory Club members for all TaylorMade products for their personal use. Members will also have the privilege to attend golf clinics conducted by TaylorMade Touring Professionals and TaylorMade Home Professionals,” said Ng Yap, CEO of MST Golf in his opening speech. “We have plans to host the TaylorMade Rory Club Junior Tournament for members in the future as well,” added Ng.
It was also announced during the launch that TaylorMade would be supporting the MST Golf Academy Junior Program as the Brand Partner to engage with golfers from a young age. MST Golf Academy has the most structured junior golf program in the region and has produced several World Junior Champions and many current players on the professional tours. The program currently has over 200 junior students.
Mark Sheldon-Allen, Vice President and Managing Director of TaylorMade Japan & Asia, was the guest of honour to launch the program. “I am very honoured to be here to launch TaylorMade Rory Club Malaysia with MST Golf. I am very pleased to see what MST Golf is doing to connect juniors with the TaylorMade brand and products,” said Sheldon-Allen. “We are happy to support MST Golf in their effort to continuously promote the game of golf to youths through their successful MST Golf Academy Junior Program,” added Sheldon-Allen.
The juniors who attended the launch were treated to short game golf clinics conducted by four TaylorMade Home Professionals. Juniors also had the opportunity to watch inspiring videos from Rory McIlroy himself describing how he started playing golf with his father in the early days.
