The Genting Challenge for Junior Golf.
Genting Malaysia Berhad will be sponsoring RM50,000 towards the Inaugural Borneo vs Peninsular Malaysia Junior Match Play 2019 which will be held at Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort from 2ndto 3rd April 2019.
The tournament, organised by SportExcel, will be the first of its kind for junior golf in Malaysia will be similar to the Ryder Cup, with the players playing Fourball, Foursome and Singles over the 2 days. The foursome will create new excitement with boys and girls being paired together.
The Borneo & Peninsular Teams will be represented by 8 Boys and 8 Girls per team below 19 years old as of 2nd April 2019.
“Golf is a great sport! We are happy to do our part in promoting junior golf as well as fostering goodwill among the juniors from Borneo and Peninsular”, said YBhg Dato’ Sri Kay, Vice President of Genting Malaysia Berhad.
For 2019, SportExcel will organise a total of 15 junior golf tournaments – 13 and 2 at national and international levels respectively.
