Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship Announced as Final Event on the Junior Golf Tour of Asia

The 27th edition of the Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship was recently announced as the final event of the Junior Golf Tour of Asia (JGTA), which will take place on May 21013, 2019 at the Damai Indah Golf’s Pantai Indah Kapuk Course.

60 spots in the 144-player field have been reserved for those competing in the JGTA, and results will count towards players’ JGTA Junior Order of Merit standing, which awards AJGA PBE status per final ranking at the end of the JGTA season. In addition, this year’s Boys Overall winner will also be given a sponsor’s exemption to participate in the Asian Development Tour’s Ciputra Golfpreneur in August.

“We would like to thank the Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship Organizing Committee as well as Damai Indah Golf for hosting the event. We look forward to sanctioning this historical tournament full of elite international junior players,” said Kyi Hla Han, Tour Founding Director, JGTA.

The Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) course also known as “The Spirit of the Sea” is one of two pristine Damai Indah Golf Courses and was designed by world-renowned golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course is ranked 11th in Indonesia and has hosted the Asian PGA Tour’s Indonesia President Invitational and the European Tour’s Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open.

As this will be the final event on this year’s schedule, it marks the last opportunity for players to gain or improve rankings on the JGTA Junior Order of Merit – the Tour’s official ranking system. After the Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship, the top-10 boys and top-10 girls on the Junior Order of Merit will be named on the JGTA All-Asia Teams.

The top-5 finishers on the JGTA Junior Order of Merit in each division earn AJGA Fully Exempt Status – the most sought-after status in junior golf. Players who earn a spot on the JGTA All-Asia Team are considered by college coaches as top prospects for college golf.
