Nett & Gross Champions… Jong Chin Ho (right) and Mohd Azmi Abing with Mr. Alfons Olim (centre), Resident Manager of Shangri-La Rasa Ria and Dalit Bay GCC
Enduring wet weather a few days earlier, the second qualifying round of the Prudential Astro Masters (PAM) at Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club enjoyed cool and dry conditions on August 4.
Gross champion Jong Chin Ho returned with a 4-over-par 76 to win on countback at the 8,923 metres Ted Parslow-designed course. Jong will be joined by Mohamad Azmi Abing @ Abin on the flight to the Grand Final in Phnom Penh after the former won the Nett category on count back with a Nett score of 67.

Dexter David (right) won the Nearest-to-Line prize.
In the Novelty category, the Nearest-to-Line at the Par-4, 348-metre 18th hole was won by Dexter David with an effort of 8 centimetres.

Longest Drive winner Jackson Gamalid (right)
It was a case of “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not”, as just like the first qualifying round, the Longest Drive champion of the day was achieved by a Gross champion. Coincidentally, Jackson Gamalid’s effort of 239 metres at Dalit Bay was the same distance recorded by Jimmy Chia at Tropicana Golf & Country Club on August 1.

Abas Tuah (right) won the Sure To Win Nearest-to-Line prize
Meanwhile, Abas Tuah won the Sure-to-Win prize when his tee-shot on the signature 11th142-metre par-3 landed seven feet from the cup.
The luckiest of the Lucky Draw winners was Mohd Rosdiansyah Amin when his card was drawn to win the Grand Lucky Draw prize of a Titoni watch worth nearly RM3,000.
