With the well-manicured course running at 11.5 on the Stimpmeter, the Championships teed-off with a field of 111 comprising 23 ladies and 88 seniors going head-to-head in their respective tournaments in pursuit of coveted top spots that were up for contention.

The ladies’ crown was successfully defended by Dato’ Azlina Abdul Aziz (8), who effectively kept up her momentum and continued her winning streak for two years running with scores of 83 – 86 for a two-day total of 169 and a one-shot victory over her closest competitor Elvina Wong Hee Hua (14) who carded scores of 88 – 82, respectively.
