CNY Cheer for Ci Hang-Chempaka Welfare Association’s Old Folks

In celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year, Gamuda Land Clubs comprising Kota Permai Golf & Country Club (KPGCC), Botanic Resort Club (BRC) and Jade Hills Resort Club (JHRC) paid a visit to the Ci Hang-Chempaka Welfare Association in the afternoon of February 8 to spread some CNY cheer to the old folks housed there as part of the Clubs’ annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the Chinese New Year (CNY) festive season.

Cars ferrying management and staff from all three clubs converged at the home, laden with various goodies comprising individual hampers for each old folk and a huge hamper for the home, wish-list items and even a brand-new TV, plus trays of food and drinks including the customary yee sang.

After a brief tour around the home by its caretaker, angpows and hampers were distributed followed by a karaoke session, which saw everyone have a wonderful time, especially with the old folks belting out some great tunes.

Post-karaoke session, it was time for the traditional tossing of the yee sang, which turned the entire get-together into a messy yet boisterous affair with everyone saying auspicious wishes loudly. The hi-tea after that proved a sweet ending which saw all gathered enjoying a delicious spread sponsored and prepared by KPGCC’s Chef Ching. Entertainment was once again provided in the form of karaoke – this time with GL Clubs staff joining in as well, plus a small dance session which had everyone swaying to some cha cha beats.
