Callaway Frame’s the Future of Speed

Callaway Golf Malaysia recently introduced the new EPIC Drivers and Fairway Woods family along with the new APEX Irons and Hybrids at the Saujana Golf & Country Club on March 19, 2021.

Kevin Yeap, Country Manager of Callaway Golf Malaysia, said, “We are excited that we can finally showcase the new EPIC & APEX family here in Malaysia though we were a little delayed due to the MCO. For us to organize this demo launch is a blessing as it’s something that we had been planning since January, but due to the MCO 2.0, all our plans had been put on hold. Hence this time, we had kept things simple and slot everyone into different time sessions for us to adhere to the SOPs by the authorities and as well to keep everyone safe amidst this pandemic.”

The new family of EPIC drivers and fairway woods were showcased at the demo launch. Three new drivers were available for testing – Epic Speed, Epic MAX, and Epic MAX LS. Exceptional ball speed starts with Callaway’s new A.I.-designed Jailbreak Speed Frame, where the previous Jailbreak architectures stiffened the body in the vertical direction. By applying Artificial Intelligence, this new structure improves stability in the horizontal and torsional direction as well. The result is exceptional ball speed across the face.

The two new fairway woods that was made available for the demo was Epic Speed and Epic MAX. The exceptional ball speed starts with the new Jailbreak A.I. Velocity Blades. Once again, Callaway used A.I. to design a completely new Jailbreak system, which spreads and angles the Jailbreak blades. Along with stiffening the body, the new design allows the forged face cup to flex efficiently. Every model and every face in these new fairway woods are uniquely designed using advanced A.I. It’s a proven technology that puts an even greater emphasis on centre and off-centre ball speed.

The new family of APEX Irons and Hybrids were also showcased at the demo launch. The irons provide exceptional forged performance and A.I.-designed ball speed technology for a wide range of players, and the hybrids feature new Jailbreak A.I. Velocity Blades for fast ball speeds in versatile, high-performance offerings.

Three models of the APEX irons were introduced- Apex 21, Apex Pro 21 and Apex DCB. The APEX is widely recognized for establishing the forged distance category. The Apex 21 Irons deliver an exceptional level of performance and craftsmanship. The new Apex Pro 21 Irons promote Tour distance and performance for scratch or single-digit handicap golfers in the players’ category. The new Apex DCB Irons extend the forged Apex offering to a wider group of golfers in the game-improvement category than ever before. They combine the look, feel and performance of a forged players club with the forgiveness of a deep cavity back.

As for the APEX hybrids, two models were showcased – Apex 21 & Apex Pro 21. The Apex 21 Hybrids are suited to help a wide range of players. They feature new Jailbreak A.I. Velocity Blades designed to increase vertical stiffness near the sole of the club, promoting more speed low on the face where players often mishit their hybrids. The blades allow the Face Cup to flex on the crown to create better spin rate consistency, and the bars are spread to enhance torsional stiffness to provide more forgiveness across the face.

Apex Pro Hybrids also incorporate Jailbreak A.I. Velocity Blades and an A.I-designed Flash Face. The Forged 455 steel provides strength and flexibility, while the iron-like design and fixed hosel create a look at address that highly skilled players prefer.

Following the demo launch, the new family of EPIC drivers and fairway woods, as well as the APEX Irons and APEX hybrids, are available at all official retailers.
