PXG Launches New 0211 Irons

MST Golf, the distributor for PXG in Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines launched the latest PXG 0211 irons in conjunction with the opening of their new PXG Performance Studio at the MST Golf Super Store @ PJ (Federal Highway).

Emmanuel Goh, the PXG ASEAN & China Operations & Sales Manager was also present at the launch together with members of the media, MST Golf management and Stewart Ginn, PXG Ambassador. Stewart Ginn, the most celebrated Golf Professional in Malaysia shared his story on how he came to represent the brand because of its performance.

PXG’s new 0211 iron is the first cast iron produced by PXG with PXG proprietary technology. It’s evolutionally hollow cavity design heads and ultra-thin HT1770 steel face insert filled with the high-speed COR2 polymer, a material which is 20 per cent faster than the previously-used TPE, generates more ball speed and tighten dispersion. The polymer also enhances feel and sound impact. Each of the club face is laser welded around the perimeter of the body instead of the face itself, a process which expands the overall size of the sweet spot, improving ball speed on mishits.

The 0211 set design combined the progressive blade length and offset to optimize the playability. The blade length gets progressively shorter as it transitions from the long irons into the mid and short irons, and the amount of offset decreases going from the top of the set to the pitching wedge, making it a glorified blended set.

Noticeably absent from each head are the tungsten and titanium screws positioned around the perimeter of the 0311 iron head profile. The weights had to be removed to “manage the unit cost,” but the heads were still optimized to produce comparable launch conditions and performance.

 

 

Custom Fitting

The New 0211 iron is the additional PXG products line up to the current PXG GEN2 woods and GEN2 0311 irons available at PXG Fitting Studio at MST Golf Tech Shop location, namely PJ (Federal Highway), TPC KL, Subang Jaya HQ, Intermark Mall KL and Mid Valley Southkey JB.

For the first time, the 0211 irons will also be made available at selected MST Golf Super Stores nationwide with two stock shaft options – True Temper Elevate steel shafts and Mitsubishi Chemical’s Multi Mesh Technology (MMT) Graphite shaft. Golfers who would like to purchase the 0211 go through a fitting process by the qualified Golf Consultants to recommend the right specifications of the set.
