MST Golf Tech Shop Offer Custom Fitting and Club Repairs Services

MST Golf recently re-launched its Tech Shop at the TPC Kuala Lumpur Driving Range. MST Golf Tech Shop (GTS), first established in 2005 received a much-needed facelift and is now the biggest and most complete Tech Shop in the country. The outlet is a dedicated technical improvement centre for custom fitting, repair, and club adjustment.

GTS was initially set up as a supplement to the retail business and was not taken seriously until the need for custom fitted clubs became prevalent among golfers.

“Five years ago, we realised that the Malaysian golf market was maturing and there was a need to offer better club fitting services to meet consumer demands. Today, we are witnessing the fruits of our labour as we are the largest club fitting and repair service provider with the most complete range of brands in the country,” said Ng Yap, MST Golf’s CEO.

All GTS facilities including the ones in Intermark and Subang Jaya work closely with brands like Titleist, PXG, TaylorMade, PING, ONOFF Labo, Wilson, Mizuno, Honma, Miura, Royal Collection, and SeeMore to provide a wide range of brands for consumers to choose from. The GTS facilities are also stocked with the most complete selection of shafts and grips with the support of two leading component suppliers including Golf Shaft Asia (GSA) and Vins Sporting House.

GTS facilities are also equipped with the latest TrackMan, ForeSight GC Quad and Quintic Ball Roll for club and ball tracking be it on full shots or putting.

The GTS team is made up of fitting specialist Geronne Nero, Master Fitter, Luke Reuter, Golf Professional and Nicholas Leong, Club Fitter, all of whom will be on hand to provide advice on custom fitting.

According to Nero, the Head Club Fitter and Builder, the level of service at all GTS facilities will be the same. He added that there was a time when golfers assumed that custom fitted clubs were more expensive than off-the-rack sets, but now consumers are better informed and educated about the benefits of custom fitted clubs and its costs.

There are plans to expand their fitting and club repair services to key regional stores, i.e. the Marina Bay Driving Range and the Suntec City store in Singapore, one of MST Golf’s biggest stores in the region. There are also plans to assemble a fitting van to move around cities offering fitting and repair services to consumers.
